Art and DesignThe environment of the school is visually enriched by the many colourful and intriguing art displays provided by the Art Department in the corridors and communal spaces.
The Art Department has a suite of rooms in the Upper Site and a single Art room in the Lower Site.
Girls are encouraged to experiment with colour and techniques using a wide range of materials and imaginative ideas which will enhance their ability to evaluate and appreciate their environment.
Visits are frequently made to galleries and museums as an integral part of their creative education. Pupils are successful in many extra-curricular art competitions and often exhibit their work within the community.
We offer both GCSE, 'AS' and 'A' level courses and encourage pupils to develop their individual preferences.
Art and Design students often progress to foundation degree courses but it can also help to create a balanced education in other areas.
