School CouncilOur School Council was established in 2001, before the Welsh Assembly Government ruled that all schools should have such a body. It was established in order to provide the pupils with the opportunity to contribute their ideas about developments and initiatives in school. Representatives are elected on an annual basis from each year group. To date their discussions have been varied, including the planning of the new girls' toilets in Plasdraw, target setting for pupils, health and safety issues, school meals, Daugherty Review of Assessment at KS2 and KS3, prevention of bullying, crime prevention, uniform, litter and the school awards scheme. Representatives from the Council have also taken part in interviews, for both teaching and non-teaching posts. |
