As a school we are trying to develop our links with our local community as much as possible. We have already developed the following:
1) A weekly column in the Aberdare Leader with our school news
2) Participation in local events and guest speakers are encouraged and this year some of the things we have introduced include:

The ‘IS IT?’ Theatre Company have delivered a variety of plays

A summer concert with the Con Voce Choir

Author Phil Carradice has worked with year 7 on a literacy project

Aberystwyth and Cardiff universities have been in to speak with the 6th form

Mr Tom Chigbo from Cambridge University came in to speak with the More Able & Talented pupils

The Royal British Legion and the Army/Air cadets came to our Remembrance Service
-
Year 8 took part in the RCT Police Liaison Quiz

Father Robert Davies came to our assemblies to deliver a service on Advent
